  • No set amount for college, we just save, save, save, and always have. DS goes to college next year and we'll be able to pay 100% of the expenses; DD has a ways to go before college but she'll have more than enough when the time comes.

  • I don't save a set amount. Whatever cash DH brings home or change goes into the fund. Whatever cash I find from doing laundry does into the fund. Last week I found 60.00 doing laundry. Woo hoo! =)

  • I was setting some aside until I had to use it to bury a relative, now we don't have any savings for them and are struggling.

  • I do $100 and I make sure no matter how tight money is that the money goes into her savings. I went to university and didn't have savings so had to get a student loan, paying it off is a bitch, I don't want my DD to have to struggle with loan payments. If you think about it $25 out of my weekly pay cheque is nothing.

  • Oh and my mum and grandma also have a savings account for her, and my step mom gives money at birthday and christmas that is for university. So from those sources its probably another 50 a month that is being saved for my DD
