What can I expect from L&D at Kaiser hospitals?

This is my 2nd child but my first with Kaiser insurance. With DD we were provided all the diapers, wipes, pads & cloth undies for me. Does Kaiser provide the same? That's my main concern. Then I'm just curious about this--- do they give you a diaper bag? With DD they gave us a choice between a backpack or over-the-shoulder diaper bag.

  • I'd call your insurance company with those specific questions, it is going to depend on your coverage, but in my experience all hospitals provide diapers etc

  • When my son was born, we got diapers and wipes for him, pacifiers (Soothies), a shirt and hat, a diaper bag (with a shirt), mesh (scratchy) underwear and pads (with no adhesive) for me... (trying to remember what else)
We took home the diapers and such. We had a good experience with Kaiser (though every facility is different). I did have a c-section, but that's only because my son's heart stopped when I was pushing him out (his cord was wrapped around his torso).
