how much do you tip your hairstylist if you are happy with the results?

Just wondering how much everyone tips. And if multiple people work on your hair, do you tip each of them?

  • Depends how much the haircut/color cost... but I'd say between $10 and $20 is a really good tip.

  • I usually tip 10-20% and give a couple of dollars to everyone who is at the salon working on me (hair washers, waxers, colorists, etc). I always make sure I can tip something, they're on their feet all day, and if they do a great job, they deserve it.

  • I am a hairstylist, so I know how much I actually get. You should ONLY tip the person working on your hair, b/c if you are at a nice salon in which there is a receptionist, hairwasher & someone to style, they almost always tip out. If just a haircut, 20%, more if they do a chemical service.

  • I usually tip my stylist 30%...she's done my hair for years, and over the course of those years, moved to different salons, and raised her prices, but my price has always stayed the same, plus she is the only person I trust with my hair!!!

  • Well, my stylist is the owner of the salon. I tip about 3-5 dollars. My mom (who is the manners queen and on my butt all the time) doesn't even tip her but I cannot remember her reasoning at the moment. Nonetheless, I think 5 dollars should suffice for a haircut/style...even coloring.
