  • I think it is normal for children to begin their early years looking like one parent, then as they get older and their features mature to favor the other parent!

  • Not really. My oldest and youngest look a lot like me and have my coloring (light skin, freckles, light eyes.) My middle child looks just like her father and her aunt, with her father's coloring (olive skin, chocolate brown eyes.)

Strangely enough, though, we found a picture of FIL when he was 12-13 and DS1 looks almost exactly like him except for eye color and style of glasses.

  • Yes and sometimes they don't look like either of us or they look more like a grandparent when they were younger.

Right now everyone says my dd looks like me but I see so much of dh in her.

  • When my son was a baby he looked nothing like me or his father. It wasnt until he got older he became his dad's twin. My daughter on the other hand looked like my mother until she got older and and now looks just like me. My baby girl looked like her sister until she got a little older and now looks like me when I was a baby, but you can see her fathers features coming through.

  • not yet, or at least not that I've noticed. Although ds looked just like daddy in minature when he was born and now people say he's like me.
However I know I looked just like my dad and now I have a lot of my mom and my bro looked like my uncle ... 95% and I remember the day he turned around and he looked so much like dad it was scary... so I think we shift through life.
