Is there a time limit to have your named changed once married?

I was married 6/6/10 but haven't changed my last name yet? When, if ever, would it be too late?

  • Well I think it depends on the state. In our state a few years ago I only had a certain time frame to change it before I was charged for doing it. You can legally change your name at any time, but you get to do it for free when you get married.

  • I don't think so, but you might want to check with your local DMV.
