leaking

Is there a way to prevent your breasts from leaking while breastfeeding? I dont have the money for those pad things and I hate having wet spots on my shirts!

  • i wear a padded bra..... just a regular bra with padding. that helps more than those pads anyway imo.

  • Rather than throwing money at the disposable ones have you looked into these?  www.simplylily.com  They last thru the whole breastfeeding time.  Other than that, when you nurse jpress on the other nipple, this acts like a stop button.

  • I stuffed baby washclothes into my bra. They are cheap, I had ALOT of them and they are washable.

  • I bought the reusable breastpads at Target - it was less than $10 for 3 pair, plus I found them more comfortable than the disposable ones! I stopped leaking while breastfeeding when my babies were around 2-3 months.

  • The leaking will stop on its own. In the meantime, pads are needed. Sorry.

  • I can't believe no one could answer this yet! I don't use pads... never have. When you feel a letdown coming, press in on your nipple with the pad of your hand and the milk will go back up and you won't leak. It works to stop a leak after it's started, as well.

I haven't used these so I don't know if they work or not but they seem kind of cool

  • You can wear a bra while nursing and buy washable pads. They are much better than disposable pads because you never have to keep buying them! Otherwise, I suggest using maxi pads or disposable nursing pads or a washcloth in your bra while nursing.
