Do you ever get a bonus or monetary recognition at work?

I have been blessed with year with both and I suspect it's somewhat rare for companies to still do this.

  • I don't work outside the home-

My husband's work has given him a few gift cards here and there. But because of the "recession" (a recession that has actually helped his company grow) they "can't afford to give out bonuses or match the 401K or provide health insurance etc. At least we still get the $20 gift cards occasionally...

  • Years ago when I worked at a thrift store making $6.75/hour, I would get an extra $50 on my paycheck for being on time everyday. I don't know if they still do that though.

  • When I was working full-time, I got yearly raises, yearly bonuses (either cash, perks (additional vacation time, use of the company condos), and/or stock options.

  • No, never. Most companies around here have stopped doing that.

  • Hubby pretty much always has. He got the August safety award, and received the bonus yesterday...now If I could only find that check today before he gets home....teehee
Me..I requested a 10% bonus from one physician who was in financial trouble if I could get back 90% of his outstanding payments from patients and insurance. He had a bad book keeper..anywho...He agreed. After 10 months I provided him with the statements and requests to return patient refunds from collecting 105% of outstanding receivables. He gave me a check for $300 instead of the ten grand he owed me stating he could not pay me that kind of money and had no idea what was owed him. I just walked out that day and never went back. I should have shot him instead.

  • I work at home but get bonuses ALL the time and tons of recognition both from the company and family :-). We can win trips, cash and tons more. Every 3 months at a new income level you get a cash bonus, after 12 months of 5 enrollments a month you'll get a $2500 bonus.
Plus I get to be home and since we are paid with residual income I basically give my self a raise with every enrollment :-)
