Around what age can babies lift their head up without trying?

  • my son did right away but he is just a big strong boy... I'd say at a couple months old... my ex friend had a baby at 4 months couldn't even do it

  • my nephew did when he was only about a week old.....but most babies i've seen don't until 3 months.

  • My daughter was lifting her head up and holding it up without support seconds after being born. She had no trouble lifting and holding her head up for long periods of time at all. Whereas my son could lift it for a couple seconds didnt really learn to hold it up until he was about a month-two months old.

  • Mine was doing it right away, literally minutes after he was born. But I would say 3 months is probably average.

  • Both my kids have always supported their heads on their own. I don't know what's average lol

  • It depends on a lot of factors, there's no right answer. My son was able to lift his head right after birth (and rolled over at 6 days) whereas some kids may take a week or month or more.
