  • I like it....I like boy names on girls....but watch out...you will get bashed by boy moms who want to protect their "boy" names

Our dd will be born in Feb. and her name is Mica Elise. I have been told "its a boy" name a million times....

    I dont care! I know 3 girl Mica's and NO boys...so there....lol.

  • I love the name Eliot-especially for a boy-but I made the mistake of telling folks my name choices and there were way too many opinions-I think Ellie is super cute-so why not...

  • Eliot makes me think of Eliot Spencer on Leverage, although it's also my birth father's middle name.

It's a great name, but coming from someone with an "unconventional" name herself, I really caution parents before they give their children names that are unusual just because they like them. You have to take into account every societal pressure and frustration your child will encounter (and sometimes endure) throughout life.

Teasing, accidental gender errors from teachers, (Shoot, I got a notice my student loans were denied because I failed to register for the draft!), never getting mail addressed correctly, callers who assume you can't be who you say you are....

  • I think it's fine but I'd spell it correctly Elliot. You can always call her Elli for short and that's very feminine. One of the main female characters on Scrubs is named Elliot.
