  • Yes and they come in handy in hard times, sometimes depends on where you live, you have to be a resident of that town or city, they will ask how many is in the family, income,do you get foodstamps, etc, sometimes they will ask if there are specific things you might need like diaper, dish detergent, etc.you dont have to pay anything at least I didnt, and some of them depending on what food bank you go to you get enough to get ou through,two-three bags of stuff or a big box of stuff.they do come in helpful.good luck

  • Something that might help you as well is something called Angel Food Ministries. They have a website you can visit. Once a month, for 30 dollars you get enough food to feed a family dinner for a week. Not bad if you ask me. Plus it's mainly meats, so it's well worth it. They also have other packages to add to it (veggies, meats, ect). It's all done through an area church which differs for each town. Hope that helps!

  • try the churches. some of them do not require an ID or proof of residency but they do have you sign a sheet or notebook that you were there.

  • Churches most definately will assist with food be it a one time service, or on a regular basis, whether you are a member or not.

  • The food banks in our area as well as the Salvation Army want identification and some proof of need be it proof of income or a proof that you get food stamps etc. Here we seem to get an eclictic mix of canned foods and fresh. It is usually enough to at least tide you over until pay day and I think if memory serves you can only get it once a month. Good luck
