  • Is it that he won't follow directions when asked? Is this new behavior or ongoing? Have there been ne major life changes (i.e. divorce, a death or new addition in the family?) Does he seem angry My 10 yr old son has ADHD & ODD (oppositional defiant disorderwhich I'm not using as an excuse, but as a partial understanding). He's also starting 2 hit puberty which in itself brings ne emotions & issues. Start w/ trying 2 talk 2 him & u mite say something like I notice ur having a hard x following directions, is there something u would like 2 talk about, etc. & let him lead the conversation bc this way, he'll c that ur aware of things as well as concerned, but not pushy (which mite make him clam instead of open up & keep the line of communication between u 2 open).

  • Also, reassure him that u love & r there 4 him, but @ the same x b firm by letting him know that rules r rules & there r consequences when he doesn't respect them. Hope this helps, good luck. Let me know how things go!!!
