I started a quest back in Feb to read the bible. Since I have so many questions, I figured reading the word would be the best way to get accurate answers. And through reading, Im finding that "faith without works is dead", and that I have a lot of self improvement to do. Any advice?
No bashing please, Im being serious..
Becoming a good Christian is a life-long journey in which we can always improve.
A good start would be to obey the ten commandments. To get a more in-depth look at the ten commandments you can read an Examination of Conscience. Once you are deliberately trying to avoid sin you might want to become involved with a ministry at church, or even something as simple as pledging to bring cookies for the kids during their Wednesday evening youth group meeting. Some day you might go further and volunteer at a homeless shelter/soup kitchen, or donate non-perishables to a food bank and toiletries to a safe house for abused women and children.

Let me recommend a study for you .... Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby. "Knowing God does not come through a program, a study, or a method. Knowing God comes through a relationship with a Person. This is an intimate love relationship with God. Through this relationship, God reveals Himself, His purposes, and His ways; and He invites you to join Him where He is already at work."
