Does the tooth fairy take inflation/recession into consideration? What kind of payout do your kids get?

  • John hasn't lost a tooth yet, but We've been telling him that the tooth fairy only takes good clean healthy teeth & pays out a dollar for each tooth, to help him want to brush his teeth. =) So When the time comes we'll have to pay a dollar.

  • A dollar, and she sucks at her job. We need a new tooth fairy. I'm not sure tooth fairies got the shaft when the recession hit, I think there is still only 1 per family.

  • $1 seems adequate, but everyone in my area does at least $5. Some do more, and I think that even $5 is a bit much for a tooth. Most of them justify it by saying that their kids don't get an allowance. I'd rather have my kids do chores to earn an allowance...

  • I can just picture the Tooth Fairy at tax time, LOL.

Not even something I've thought about yet, but yeah I think $1.00 per tooth is good.

  • My boys haven't lost any teeth yet but I think I'll do like lilmoosemom. I'm gonna tell them she only takes clean healthy teeth. Maybe I won't have to fight as much to get them to brush.

  • two older kids are 50/50 with their dad (my SO) and their mom
at their mom's her mother gave them $50 !!
so we do not even try to compete
also sad sad note on teeth...this mother told 9 yr old had she should lose her teeth at her house not dads house
one am me and 9 yr old brushing teeth, one of hers just hanging there, she lost when brushing teeth and was very upset because moms wants her to lose all her teeth at her house
WHO PUTS THIS KIND OF PRESSURE ON A KID??
i told her we can save for mom, also could not help myself and joked "Does she want you to lose them all at her house because she is making jewerly or something" this broke the tension, and child laughed, but she was worries mom would be upset with her???!
