Would you invite your SK to your child's 1st birthday if they lived multiple states away?

And you know their BM will NOT let them attend??

  • I would still send them an invite because it might make them happy to get the mail. What does it hurt?

  • Yes, as a formality. How would you feel if you never got invited to a family member's birthday party? Even if they can't attend, thinking you didn't think of them is worse than not being able to come. GL.

  • I think I would, just so they still feel apart of the family.. If BM lets them come or not is up to her but at least the child knows they were invited and thought about..

  • Yes, so they'll feel that you are thinking about them. I'd also include a nice chatty note.

  • I always invite out of state aunts/uncles because I want them to feel included even though we know they are not coming.
