Does Any One Have Any Lunch Suggestions

For a 16 month old? I am always at a loss at what to fix my ds at lunch time. Lately he has been eating very little or nothing. I think he is hungry and just doesn't like what I am fixing. Any suggestions on what I can fix him?

  • my 15 month old hasnt been eating much latley either because hes teething, but even when he is eating normal, lunch isnt his biggest meal .. so usually i will give him an organic yogurt and crackers, or a grilled cheese on whole wheat with a cut up fruit, mac n cheese, fish sticks, or i will give him breakfast food for lunch like cheerios with banana, oatmeal, a scrambled egg & whole wheat toast, a whole wheat bagel with veggie cream cheese, or left overs from dinner the night before or just plain old dinner food like speggati & meatballs, whole grain pasta with butter and parm cheese, rice with veggies chicken and butter, chicken noodle soup and toast. theres really so many things to give, i just try and keep it healthy & tastey.

  • I think toddlers eating habits slow down a bit ...I do remember when my kids were toddlers they weren't eating and the DR's have always told me that their eating habits slow down and don't need as much food. just keep offering small amounts of food here and there throughout the day

  • My son loves eggs, so if he didn't have them for breakfast for lunch he'll have scrambled eggs, french toast, omelette (great place to throw in some veggies!). He also likes cheese cubes and whole wheat crackers, he'll always eat some type of fruit cut up, loves steamed carrots and potatoes, frozen cheese ravioli cooks quick, cheese on whole wheat toast, 1/2 peanut butter sandwich. Or a lot of days we will just have leftovers from the night before. Today he had chicken and broccoli casserole from last night with some strawberries and banana.
