  • fall craft i do with my 4 year old-
Use finger paint to paint a leaf and then press it across windows or tissue paper to make home decor
    make apple stamps
make homemade play dough, craft it, and paint it with home made paint (we make leaves, witches, ghosts, and pumpkins)

  • I always cut out pictures from magazines and papers and save them in a little box. When my son wants to 'create', he makes a collage out of the pictures that he likes at the time.

You could get small pumpkins and let him glue things on instead of carving. Pom poms, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, etc. We did that last year and they turned out pretty cute.

    Finger paint, watercolor, make playdough.

You can make things ahead of time for Christmas.......ornaments, paper chain, cards, etc.

  • Why not make a Halloween Tree, and let them make all the decorations? Instead of multicolor lights use small black lights or orange lights.

  • is a Disney site and it has great crafts for little ones.
Some silly crafts we do at our house though are to take packing tape and cut it with pinking shears in a long narrow strip. You can take fall flowers (such as mums) and maybe a leaf or two if they are small. Once you stick them to it fold it over evenly so that it is now about the length of a book mark. You can then punch a hole in the top with a hole punch, put a ribbon in it and you have a home made book mark.
Folger's has a spot where you can print out pages to color. You can either print them on adhesive paper or use glue to put them on but they will fit right over a Folger's can. Then you can use it to make as a cookie jar type thing and give away as gifts from your child. Go to Folger's web site and I am sure it explains it better.

  • Playdough and painting is always fun. Also just cutting and gluing construction paper shapes. Making snowflakes is fun too.

  • stickers, coloring, painting, paint by number (not so messy), cutting paper, gluing stuff... with little kids ANYTHING can become an art project... my girls LOVE to cut up paper, then glue it to another piece of paper, stick stickers all over it... it may not be pretty, but they have fun and are learning important skills...
