  • rice cereal in the bottle does absolutley nothing and is actually a choking hazard so i would not do that at all.
introduce rice cereal from a spoon mixed with stage 1 fruit around 4 1/2 - 5 months.

Never, not a good idea. Here's one article, but you can google it and find lots of others if you'd like to find out more info about why you shouldn't do this.

  • Yeah, you don't put it in a bottle. You have to introduce it by spoon. My daughter would never eat it, even if it was mixed with stage 1 fruit. I wanna say we tried to get her to eat cereal when shew as about 5 months.

  • It's best not to introduce cereal in a bottle, and instead it's best to introduce in a in bowl with a spoon mixed with formula (or breast milk if you are breast feeding) instead. And on average between 4-6 months on recommendations from the doctor.

  • Thicken it up a little and feed with a spoon. I waited until 6 months since solids aren't that beneficial until after a year anyway. Till then it's just getting used to the texture and new tastes.

And like PP, it's not a good idea. Along with the fact that it can cause ear issues from sucking too hard.

  • You really shouldn't do this at any age. Solids are meant to be eaten with a utensil.

  • Oh and to add, you don't HAVE to introduce cereal. You CAN start with fruits and veggies after 6 mos.

  • Ask your pediatrician when would be a good time start the cereal.
