Do you think that there were 3 wise men or just 3 different presents?

  • the bible never says how many wise men there were (just that there was more than one...) so it could have been 2 or 3 or 10...

  • Just presents, the Bible doesn't mention the number of wise men it's just always represented as 3 since there were 3 gifts.

  • I don't think it matters, lol. I'm more interested in the idea that they were magi - Zoroastrian priests. ;)

  • It didn't occur to me until I read Matthew 2 very closely that there weren't necessarily three wise men. The Bible just says "wise men", it doesn't give a number.

  • Why does it matter if they were Zoroastrian priests ... they were following Hebrew prophecies to find Christ, not the "prophecies" of Zoroaster.
