how much does Social Security take from your check?

Every two weeks social security takes 50 bucks of my money. Leaving my check about 650 after that && other taxes come out. I have never had so much come out for ss before. Is this normal? Furthermore, is social security won't exist by the time I retire, why should I have to pay?

  • I think I pay over $350 a month into social security. More if I have OT.

  • I try not to look! It just makes me angry... especially since, like you said, we're probably never going to see it. :(

  • @Mamaofficer in the section where it shows your hours and over time and rate of pay it shows taxes. It'll say social security or ss.
