How do people NOT know the difference?

"sew" and "sue"... really... if the way you're saying it even sounds enough the same that you don't understand the spelling difference... you're saying it WRONG! They're COMPLETELY different.

And while we're at it, yes, "no" and "know" sound alike, but they're not. "U" is only an acceptable alternative for "you" if you're typing with a non-qwerty keyboard.

I know there are other similar issues ... which one drives you the most crazy?

  • I hate it when people say "chill out, it's not a grammar class." So the only time we should take the time to spell correctly (which I hope is something we all learned in school, for the most part) is if we're writing an essay? I'm not talking about an occasional typo which we've all been guilty of, I'm sure, this is people who either don't even try or who must be seriously illiterate.

  • i hate when people spell phonetically. I also hate leet, people who think that punctuation is a suggestions, and those who use far too many abbreviations for you to be able to understand what they heck they are saying in the first place. not only is it irritating to try to decipher, but it shows me just how low this country's educational system can go.
