  • Shady Nooks Grass Seed by Jonathan Green

A mixture of shade tolerant grasses for heavily shaded lawn areas.

Grows in Dark - dank corners and nooks where shade and poor drainage is a problem.
Contains Perennial Grasses that blend well with existing lawn when re-seeding.
Excellent for starting a new lawn or re-seeding thin lawns.
Germinates in 10 to 14 days, for fast coverage.

  • Buy grass seeds that are for high traffic and shade. It is best off as a no traffic area for a summer if you want the grass to stay there in the future as it will give the grass ample time to put in a strong root system to deal with people walking or playing on it.

  • We just used some Scott's brand made for sun or shade. The shady spots aren't as full as the sunny spots. We have a fair number of weeds in there, so it helps it look fuller (and you can walk on those, too, lol).

You might have to til the dirt and get the moss out of there in order for the grass to take hold well. Grass doesn't seed well on top of other plants or on very hard soil.
