  • This story gets weirder every day and I'm just hoping he doesn't do something far worse than burning that Quran.

  • I think that pastor is crazy!! I don't believe that they said they would move the mosque. They said they would get him a meeting with those in charge of all that. Now he is saying he may go ahead with the burning. He is holding the Koran hostage, I think it's horrible and very crazy!! I hate that he has gotten this much publicity, it just adds fuel to his fire. Before all this, the pastor only had 30 followers now he has the whole world paying attention to him.

  • i don't know..i mean, its not like anyone on 'the other side' would lie, right? just the crazy pastor is capable of lying.
think about how many hours it took for anyone to come out and deny the agreement..why would the pastor say several hours earlier that there was an agreement if there wasn't some sort of one??
makes ya think..or it did me, but then i only take half of what i hear in, and question the rest.

  • why do they now say they did not make that deal?

Because they didn't make that deal. The psycho in Florida never even talked to the Imam in charge of the Community Center. He talked to some other Imam in Florida who said he's ask, and the psycho went on tv and said there was an agreement (the Florida Imam never even had a chance to talk to the NY Imam, and is in no way affiliated with the Community Center). This bigot can't even tell that there is more than one Imam on the planet. And btw, someone needs to teach him that a Muslim cleric is an Imam and IMAN is a model. (Psycho is on the Today show live right now lying about it again)

  • First of all, holding the Koran 'hostage'..lol thats a bit overly dramatic to say imo..it's not as if the few copies this man may have even comes close to the amount all over the world..Same with the Holy Bible someone could burn hundreds..thousands..and there would still be PLENTY to go around..Not to mention this idiot preacher has spent $$ purchasing Korans..

I do not agree with the burning of the books..I agree with some of his opinions but not the bbq Koran day..

Anyway, yes the man cannot seem to make up his mind..to burn..not to burn back and forth..and meanwhile the media is LOVING giving all of this attention to this story..the little church of 50 folks and their 'Burn a Koran Day' COULD have went largely unnoticed if it wasn't for the media having to dish out a sensationalized story..while pretending that they give two shits about our troops..and shaming the idiot preacher for not caring..very predictable of

  • *sigh* It's not a mosque for one, or not exclusively a mosque anyway.

I just think that if he burns the Korans, that some Islamic Exteremeist is going to burn down his church, or something similar.

  • In case you have nopt noticed there are daily attacks such as this on Christianity and others..for example images of Christ being made fun of in ways..crosses in jars of urine...Christ being made out to be a villian etc etc..in the public, arts, and media..but for some strange reason Islam is supossed to be given special treatment? For some reason it suddenly isn't considered freedom of expression?

What a load of crap..if it can be freely done to one then NONE should be protected from the freedom of expression..this is AMERICA right?

  • For the life of me I cannot see how you do not see that as catering to one belief over another...

    Christian belief:
    Turn the other cheek
Do not cast your pearls before swine

    Muslim belief:
Do not display graven images of Muhammad
All scripture, meaning the Torah, the Bible and the Quran, are sacred and should be treated respectfully at all times

Find a bible passage about never disrespecting the book itself or not showing images of Jesus and you'd have an argument. Find someone who causes you to engage in gluttony, avarice or using the lord's name in vain, and you have reason to be offended. What you are not allowed to do is complain that people do things that are not against the rules of your religion just because they are against the rules of another religion (ironically, another religion you hate, yet want to hold your own to its standards when it suits you)

  • the media..most are slime balls. The preacher is just a moron who doesn't seem to realize burning a few Korans by no means rids of them all..and it really has no point..
