is it bad to give a 2 month old formula and breast milk through out the day

  • It's better than no BM at all. So, no. Although all BM would be are certainly doing better than a lot of mom's.

  • Every time you supplement and miss a feed you risk your milk supply. Do not supplement just for the sake of it. If you must miss a feed you own breastmilk is best and you should hand express or pump the milk from the missed feed especially this early. Formula is also notoriously the more you give the more gas and bowel issues you are likely to see.

    Why do you feel you need to supplement? Can you elaborate for more specific advice and to be sure you aren't supplementing for a wrong impression of healthy breastfeeding habits?

  • It CAN be bad for your supply. Doesn't mean it will ALWAYS damage supply, but be careful so that it doesn't affect production.
