How do you clean mold stains from tile?

I'm in the process of moving into a new place, but the bathroom has mold stains on the tile on the floor and it really grosses me out. I know the mold itself is gone, but it still looks blackish. Any suggestions????

  • Try a baking soda paste, rub it in like soft scrub, let it sit and then hit it with some vinegar. The foaming action will help release some of the deeper down mold. Rinse with water when you're satisfied. Good luck!

  • TSP and bleach. When I don't have TSP, I just use bleach. But TSP it is probably better to use TSP and bleach. TSP is just a special soap that doesn't get sudsy.

  • You have to let it sit for a bit, probably scrub and then rinse.

  • I've tried bleach, and tried dishwasher soap with bleach (I read somewhere that it would work) but it hasn't!

TSP - where can you find that?

  • You can get TSP probably at any hardware store. I've gotten it at Walmart.

  • you're going to think i'm crazy, but tooth paste and a firm bristled toothbrush....it works great!...or you could try half a lemon, and half a cup of borax. (borax is in the detergent aisle in the store)

  • I get a spray bottle with 1/2 bleach, a bit of dish soap and remaining water. I get a good brush and it works very well. Spray tile weekly to avoid repeated mold problems. Better ventilate the room.
