Occasionally I still have to swaddle my 6 month old. She will be 7 months old soon and I have no idea on how to get her to go to sleep and stay asleep w/o being swaddled. Does anyone have any ideas?

  • My second son was like this. He LOVED being swaddled. We had a Miracle Blanket and swaddled him every night. What I did to "wean" him from being swaddled was swaddle him a few nights in the blanket but with his arms out. He might wake up once or twice but I would just give him his paci and he would go back to sleep. I also bought some sleep sacks. After he got use to sleeping unswaddled, I let him sleep in the sleep sacks. he took to it no problems. Good Luck!!!

  • Just keep swaddling her. There isn't a time limit on swaddling.

  • I stopped swaddling dd when she kept getting out of her blankets. She would wiggle around and get her arm stuck or something and start screaming. It took about a week, but I would just leave the blankets a little looser each time until I just laid her on them. She did perfectly fine without them

  • My granddaughter loved being swaddled until she was 10 months old. Then she wiggled out of it. Continue if she loves it.

  • pff. My 4 month old dd can wiggle out of every swaddle i try! Just keep up with it i guess. If it makes your baby sleep why fight it!
