she sleeps so long

my 3 month old sleeps 12-14 hours each night, straight. she still eats every 2 hours during the day, so i know she still gets the right ounces of formula, but ive never heard of a baby so young sleeping so much. she has done this for 3 weeks now. every night! i'm not complaining, but should i be concerned at all? she goes to bed at 6pm and sleeps util 7am, sometimes even later!

  • Wow & I thought my 2 month old slept a lot! Whew! She sleeps about 6-7 hours at night. Her dr. said they go through growth spurts with long periods of sleep & it's normal. I was concerned, too. I didn't want her to go hungry because of her sleeping so much.

  • Do you know how many mothers/fathers wish they had a baby that slept that long? Haha
No, you shouldn't be concerned. There are babies, a lot of babies, who do sleep through the night very early. If she's still eating regularly during the day, interacting (as much as a 3 month old does) and wetting/dirting her diaper as normal then she's fine.
