Do you celebrate Grandparent's Day?

it's this Sunday, if you are unaware. Our family always treats it like Mother's Day and Father's Day. This year I was surprised to see ds's school is having breakfast for grandparents one morning next week. Do you think grandparents get the recognition they deserve? Mine raised me about 75% and the parents 25%. They did it without complaint too. They are still alive though their health has fallen big time and it saddens me greatly.

  • Yes we do!! And most of our local public schools do something. I have 1 bio grandparent left and 2 steps, wish I could afford to spoil them like they spoiled me all those years ago! Excited this year as my 4 year old actually understands and can call my parents and mil/fil this year!

  • I used to celebrate it, but haven't really gotten into it since I lost my granny....and my grandparents that are still living are just different now.

  • No we do not. My parents nor my parents are very active in our kids lives. Maybe it's because we live on the opposite coast but that shouldn't stop them from calling, emailing or even texting. They do none of the above.

  • I NEVER HAVE FOR SOME REASON. I DO THINK IT A BIT UN FAIR TO CELEBRATE MOTHERS OR FATHERS DAY BUT NOT GRANDPARENTS DAY.

  • Nope. I don't celebrate ANY Hallmark holiday - Grandparents day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Secretaries Day... None of them! You should love and appreciate your loved ones every day, not just because the calendar says so.
