How do you get rid of fruit flies?

I hate those things -- and they multiply fast!!! Any advice?

  • Make a mixture of 1/2 dawn dish soap and 1/2 white vinegar...the little buggers are attracted to the stuff and drown.

  • wipe everything down wiht almond extract. that's what we did at the grocery store deli i used to work at.

  • Amonia. They hate it. Clean with it, and if there is still a problem, leave an open container of it where they are coming from (out of the way of little hands of course).Poor some down your drains. Will work!

  • Get a mason jar, and put a chunk of a sweet fruit, like a banana in the bottom. Cover the lid with a piece of saran wrap and poke a couple of tiny holes in it. The fruit flies will smell the banana, go in through the holes, but can't find their way back out. Sounds silly, but it really works!
