Big Families question!

We have 7 children- two of them have jobs- and we spend aver $8,000 a month on our house, food, gas, schools etc. Clothing and entertainment are extra. How much do you spend? How many kids?

  • We have 8 in our home - my husband and me, and our 6 children. Everything included, our total monthly costs are between $1,400 and $1,500.

  • 4 kids, we right around $2000/month on everything - mortgage, bills, food, "entertainment", everything. I can't imagine over 8grand...

  • It's really relative - if you're in Kansas where a 3000 square foot house costs $100k, then of course your costs are less, but so is your income - compared to NYC, where the 3000 condo is being sold for $15M... it's all relative - I think % of your income is the more relevant question.

  • I never really added it up. We have 5 kids including a newborn. My husband makes about $2400/month so we spend less than that a month on rent and bills. We have no credit cards and our only debt is our car (which will be paid off in 2012).
