Recipe for Beer Bread?

Does anyone know a recipe? Hubby wants me to make some, but I've never heard of it!

    3 cups self-rising flour
    2 tablespoons sugar
    12 ounces Beer, room temp.
    1-2 Tablespoons butter, melted

Preheat oven to 375. In a mixing bowl combine flour and sugar. Add beer. Mix well. Place in a greased loaf pan and bake at 375 for 50-60 minutes. Brush with melted butter.Make sure you are using self-rising flour.

Variations: add any or a combination

  • Ooh, find a Tastefully Simple consultant/sales person/whatever they're called - TS has a beer bread recipe that's sooo easy - add a can of beer to the mix & bake, lol, and it is SO good! I've had other beer bread (made by others, I don't know how myself other than the TS mix), but the TS is the best IMO!

  • Beer Bread is fast and easy to make from scratch. Here's the recipe:
1-12 oz bottle or can of beer
    3 C. self-rising flour
    3 tbsp. melted butter
    3 tbsp. sugar
Mix sugar and flour. Add beer. Stir thoroughly. Pour into 9X5 loaf pan. Pour melted butter over the top. Bake 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Delicious!
    Your hubby will LOVE it!
