How many of you thinks that Febreeze has an odor or smell to it?

I thought Febreeze was suppose to eliminate odors. I bought the sport one to help with sporting equipment and shoes but the Febreeze itself has a smell or something. I can't figure it out. It is almost like it reacts with the other odors or is just trying to cover them up or something. My daughter likes the lavender Febreeze which isn't too bad but there again is it just covering the odors of her room with a lavender scent?

  • Febreze is just another "air freshener". Yes, they have an odor its all scented. It doesn't always eliminate the odor you are trying to get rid of. A vinegar and water solution would do you better.

  • Yeah it has it's own scent. I don't care for it. It's supposed to kill odors but also give the fabric a "fresh scent". I bought Lysol's Fabric Freshener and it has a scent too but I prefer it over Febreeze plus it supposedly kills bacteria.

  • I use the lavender also, I think it works well on the couches and curtains.

  • We buy the home collections from febreze, I love the honey suckle and willow ones. For the fabric refresher I get the spring blossom one. We tried the allergy reducer and it stunk. I ended up pouring it out.

  • I believe there is also an unscented one. We use a store brand which is unscented and is cheaper and it works well. There is a home mixture using water, baking soda and other ingredients, however I don't know the recipe. Baking soda does remove odors.
