Why are people scared to admit things even online?

where no one knows them and nothing can physically happen to them?

why be shy HERE?

  • because some things are better left unsaid. admission is personal; people have their reasons...one of which might be that 'it' can get found out by the slightest computer-geek. what they don't want even one person to know, why would they bother to tell strangers?

  • also some things are better left unsaid, I suppose to avoid judgement, flaming, unnecessary comments, or admit to something self-incriminating (not necessarily felony level, but still some sort of rule breaking admission).

  • Maybe because what you post online will be floating in cyberspace forever.

  • Some things are just off limits, or they should be. In the age of Jerry Springer, Maury Povich, Rikki Lake, etc., it seems like nothing is sacred. Well, not everyone feels the need to air their dirty laundry. There has to be a filter somewhere when it comes to divuldging info. Besides, be careful what you put in writing- it could come back to bite you later!

  • "Maybe because what you post online will be floating in cyberspace forever."

only if you don't get a chance to delete it first. Even then you're anonymous on here, if they saw you in real life they wouldn't know it. You can pretty much say anything online (barring personal info) and be 99% sure its not gonna come back to you in real life.

If you get grief online, its a simple matter of starting over, unlike real life where you can't simply change bodies.
