  • Most docs don't try and hear the heart beat until about 8-9 weeks with the doppler. The heart starts beating at about 6 weeks though and can be seen with a sono. The gender can be seen as early as 12 weeks (though hard to see) and you usually get scheduled for a gender sono between 17-20 weeks. I just found out my baby's gender (I am 18w 2d)!

  • Heartbeat- it's possible to hear it now, but you may not hear it until 12 weeks. You should have an appointment at 10-12 weeks and they will check with the doppler.
Gender- 20 weeks, that's when most OB's do the ultrasound to check growth and development.

  • At 7wks they could only see the hb and then at 10wks we finally got to hear it. 18-20wks is the best time to find out the gender of your baby.
