help asap...gum in hair

my dd forgot she had gum in her mouth and decided to start chewing on her hair(which I can not stand and she gets in trouble for it when i see her doing it) I tried ice and combing it out someone told me try peanut butter any other suggestions before i dip in to the pb jar.

  • I've heard of peanut butter too. Good luck, maybe just cut her hair short, she wont be able to chew on it then. I keep telling DD I'll cut all her hair off if she chews on it. (course not bald ya know)

  • olive oil. put it on the gum, let it sit for a minute and gently pull the hair out of the gum

  • the ice will work, it just takes time. The PB also work..again, just takes some time and patience. GL.

  • oh and you never use ice, that just freezes the hair to the gum so hopefully olive oil will work after you did that cause you're supposed to do it when the gum is soft

  • Mayonase works too....gets a little yucky though. wash good after. Good luck
