another one: Do you feel okay about serving Beans with a meat dish?

TO me it seems redundant. I do because my family loved baked beans with BBQ and burgers but I always feel silly serving 2 proteins.

  • Beans aren't just a source of protein, they also contain fiber and up to 9 different vitamins & minerals and are naturally low in fat. Yes, I'd serve beans with a meat dish.

  • If its something like baked beans with hamburgers, I dont mind it. Or say lima beans as a side dish. But lentils and sometimes pinto beans I serve on their own.

  • If I serve beans it's as a side, I can't stand to eat them so we have to have some other kind of protien too.

  • I often serve beans with meat, not a big deal to me. There are full of vitamins and minerals, not just protein.
