should i just skip trick or treat??

daughter is three
in autusm spectrum and has real issue with artifical food dyes and perservatives
almost all candy has that food dye crap in it
how can i take her trick or tricking when she will not be able to eat most of it
it is a real bummer

and can not make exception at this one time
red dye 40 makes she break out in rash and bang her head against the wall
all LAKE dyes are out of her diet

besides going to England where they are banned, any ideas, i think we are going to have to skip it :(

  • My son has ASD and can't/won't eat candy... We go to a pumpkin patch and go through mazes or ride on a tractor.. he loves it and wants to do it again this year. :)

  • Maybe try making your OWN Halloween celebration? Ask the parents that come not to bring candy but to bring other treats that don't have dye's and such in them. :) Give them a list as an idea sheet to go by also.

  • you could still go trick or treating, and trade her for the candy, in exchange for a new toy she has her eye on :)

maybe when she is older, she is three and has speech more than a year behide, she would FIT if i took her candy, she would not understand, she attention span is not that high and delayed gratification not at that level of understnading

but something for think about if she has that ability on future=thanks
