do you have any landscaping ideas?

i kind of do but im running out of ideas. i dont care much for flowers cause it is only a one time thing and then your yard look crappy when it gets cold. i want to put up a nice rock wall along the driveway and a fence. i live in the country so the sky is the limit i guess.

  • I use a lot of rocks (instead of mulch) and different grasses. It looks really natural. I saw a neat idea for a fountain; it was a basically a 6' circle out of river rock, with an under-rock fountain in the middle. The water went up a foot or so, it was natural and beautiful in it's simplicity.

  • It would depend on where you live. Google your landscape zone and it will tell you what kind of plants, trees, and shrubs will thrive in your zone. You can find lots of low maintenance shrubs that flower at different times of the year, so that your yard won't be all flowery during only one season. Id love to make some suggestions, but I'd have to know what your zone is. :-)

  • you could try some evergreen bushes (I think that's what they're called)...the kind of piney looking ones that last all year round....rocks and mulch would look nice. Maybe some trees as well.

  • I love rock walls. Just make sure there is enough room for snow when you have to plow it. That is one mistake we made in Massachusetts. We didn't allow enough room to put the snow if we had several storms back to back. It could have been planned better.

In another area we planted juniper shrubs to line the edge of the property. They get huge though. You have to plan for their mature size. We bought the ones that get very wide but not tall. Plan out your ideas on paper and then you can imagine it better.

  • Ornamental grasses in with rock gardens can be pretty and last a while find flowers that will bloom all season long they can just go from 1 bloom to the next if you plant them right
