When was the last time someone asked YOU how you were doing, and meant it?

I just realized that I can't remember the last time someone called just to ask me how I was doing because I crossed their mind and they cared how I was. We're always so wrapped up in making sure that everyone else is doing well that we get put on people's backburner of importance.
This makes me sad...

  • This is a good question. I am going through a divorce right now and it's the people I have least expected that have called to check on me. Makes me appreciative, but at the same time makes me wonder if people that are supposed to care and say they care really care at all...kwim?

  • Probably back in 1995 when I was getting ready to leave for the Military.
No one really cared since I came home

  • A couple of days ago. I only have 2 friends that ask me how I am, mean it, and then listen when I respond and everything is less than shiny/happy.

  • My daughters call at least three times a week to see how I'm doing. My grandson lives with me, so every day he comes home from school he asks how my day way (how sweet and he's -13 - thinks of grandma before getting on the video games :) And I do have a very close friend that calls at least once a month to catch up. I'm blessed - they know I'm there - just because.
