  • I always make mine with a mixture of romaine and green leaf lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced black olives, and avocado. I also sometimes add lean turkey or chicken. To make a healthy dressing - use olive oil mixed with lemon and freshly chopped herbs. Delicious!

  • Ditto Footballmom, I don't like a lot of stuff. Often we have grilled spicy chicken breast over spring mix salad with tomatoes and some feta cheese and some delicious low fat garlic vinaigrette.

  • The simpler, the better. I'm not a big fan of garbage salads.

I typically use romaine lettuce, celery leaves (adds great flavor), grape tomatoes, few slices of red onion, a little salt, and I make my own oil and vinegar dressing.

  • Ilike to make a taco salad, green leaf lettuce, cilantro, green onions, black beans (rinsed from a can) a sprinkle of cheese (optional) one curshed taco shell or a few chips crushed on it. Fat free french dressing.

  • I love spinach salad with sliced strawberries and poppy seed dressing. If I'm being bad, I'll add bacon bits - sooooo yummy!

  • I make a really good summer salad- romaine, blueberries, mandarin oranges, strawberries, and pecan with a poppy seed dressing. If I'm eating it for a meal I add chicken

  • I try to avoid the dressings altogether. I use Romaine lettuce, celery, carrots, and add either tuna or grilled chicken to make it more satisfying.

  • For a healthy salad, I always use baby spinach leaves. I put walnuts on it and use light French Country dressing (Ken's).
