The song " He's Got the Whole World in his Hands"

Who is this supposed to be talking about? I was told that it was supposed to be about God or Jesus. But the Bible says the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. So who is this about?

  • Curious, can you give me a verse reference where it says the world is lying in the power of the wicked one? I'd like to study that a little bit more.

  • Why would a Christian children's song be about Satan? The whole world is most likely meaning all the people; so God is holding all his people/children in His hands.

  • It's about God .... and since Christ came, the Bible says, that all authority on heaven and on earth has been given to him. The song is supposed to be a visual of God's sovereignty over all things ... including Satan.
