Australia lawyer 'smokes' Koran, Bible pages. Are the extremists going to start targeting Austrailia now?

An Australian lawyer tore pages from the Koran and the Bible and smoked them on YouTube, days after a US pastor's threat to burn Islam's holy book triggered deadly protests and global condemnation.

In a 12-minute clip entitled "Bible or Koran -- which burns best?" Alex Stewart, who belongs to an atheist group, holds up the Christian and Muslim holy books before tearing out pages and smoking them.

At one point he lights what looks like a joint rolled from a page from the Bible, leans back after inhaling heavily and says "Holy".

The video, which has been deleted, was posted on YouTube over the weekend, coinciding with the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks and coming after American pastor Terry Jones threatened to torch 200 copies of the Koran.

  • Only if they hear about it. Good job doing your part to spread the word across the internet to make it less likely they won't hear about it.

  • No, the extremists probably won't hate Australia... Seems like some folks seek out any reason to hate America and her people, while other places and besmirtchers remain exempt.  *sigh*

I disagree that everyone hates America. That is just silly. We are admired around the world...even if an odiot like the Florida preacher threatens to burn a Quran . Then there are the tea party people who start carrying stupid signs with bad spelling and nasty remarks about the Government. THEY are the ones who hate, those misguided ,ignorant back-woods radical right -wingers. They make me embarassed for the normal ,average, tea party people.
But , no....America is not "hated".

  • The truth is, those yearning to explode don't need a 'reason'. They hate for the sake of hating ~ and because they are too lazy or stupid to do anything constructive to make their lives better.

It's a shame they can't all just wander out in an empty field (or dump) to go boom.

  • Thank goodness it wasn't another Christian nut job. Between the Westboro Baptist Church, The Florida Jack Ass, and now that guy in NC who was going to blow up abortion clinics enough already. This Austrailian obvious has no respect for anyone's beliefs. It will be interesting to see if the threats come his way. it could go either way.
