Babbling and talking

My baby boy is 7 and half months.... When did your baby say their first word? My friends make comments that he isn't much of a babller around other babies or people.... He babbles with me and his dad, grandparents, and close family friends who are around alot... Is he just shy and that's why he doesn't babble alot?

  • babies will start the "dada" "mama" around 7-9 months. this is "normal" and as long as your baby gets plenty of feedback from his family, i would not worry too much. they are individuals now. some humans are just more laid back than others.

  • My daughter babbled all the time around us, but she is almost 3 now and still doesnt talk much around people she doesnt know, though you can't get her to stop around us. Your chld is probably just shy, I wouldnt worry.
