  • Why is she upset? Because she didn't get to say bye to brother? If that's the case I would just let her get up at the same time he does so she can give him a hug or whatever before he leaves.

  • I too would get her up at the same time. But in addition to that, just casually tell her that he's at school and when she's older, she can go to school. Stay upbeat and positive, and don't make a big deal out of it. She's adjusting to him being gone - she's just not used to it.

She'll adjust, but if her being upset begins to get her a lot of attention and "babying", she'll "be upset" a lot more ... it will become a manipulation she'll use just to garner attention.

  • try getting her up at the same time, or just before he leaves to say goodbye.

  • I agree with the others...wake her up before he leaves for school so she can say "bye"...

  • Can her brother start leaving her a note or a drawing?

  • Is she upset cause she didnt get to say goodbye? Get her up and let her say goodbye. Tell her to make him something special to put in his lunch box.

  • Wake her up to say goodbye or have her say goodbye at bedtime the night before.

  • You could get her up at the same time, or have brother make her a picture or write her a little note in the mornings so she knows he is thinking of her and just reassure her he will be home soon!
