Have you ever tried to create an ice cream cake?

I saw on Food Unwrapped a segment where they were showing how a Carvel ice cream cake was put together. It was quite interesting and it seemed incredibly simple. I think I would make it out of my favorite ice cream which would be Starbucks or Haagen Dazs.

  • yes I have , many times and you are right it is easy. I make mine starting with a fav cookie crumbled on the bottom then build it from there. I have lots of variations depending on my mood and what I have on hand.
I have also made a banana split "cake" made with traditional banana split toppings and layered just like regular banana split just in a 13X9 pan. freeze both (the split and the cake) until about 10-15 minutes before serving. Cut and enjoy!!

  • I've made a cake by making a regular cake (chocolate) in 2 layers and put a layer of chocolate mint in the center... it was yummy!

  • I have done it a few times! It is really easy. It's a bit of a pain to decorate because you have to keep freezing it. Overall, it's not that bad!
