How hard would it be?

To tile around my bathtub rather than using a tub surround kit? I like the look of the tile better.

  • My DH tiled out and we love it. Our old place had one of those plastic tub surrounds and it was a pita to try to keep clean compared to the tile. Like a pp said, they offer classes & help at Home Depot & Loews, as well as books & videos to teach you how to do these things. Since it is your first time, I'd avoid anything too fancy or complicated and just go with a simple pattern. Good luck & have fun, I'm sure it will come out great!

  • I need to do that too. Ours is a mess. I wouldn't be comfortable doing it myself. It needs to be water tight. Why would tile be bad for babies? That is a new one!

  • Look at videos and books before attempting it. Learn all you can. And the staff at Home Depot and Loews are very helpful. It is not difficult if you are generally pretty handy, but do your homework so it comes out great!
