  • "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband." 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 & 1 Corinthians 7:1-2

  • It speaks of fornification which can be many different things. I don't really think it specifically says not before marraige in the original language, but I'll have to check I'm really tired.

  • Search "fornication" on any bible website like biblegateway.com and you will see hundreds of verses stating why fornication is wrong.

  • The God of the OT seemed to have no problem with it- sex before marriage, sex with your concubine, sex with your father after getting him trashed. It's only the God of the NT- who seems utterly unlike the God of the OT- that has an issue with it... odd, huh?

  • IhartU, all those things you mentioned did not go unpunished.
