my daughter doesnt cry..

Shes 4 months old and never crys. The only time she actually crys with tears is when she gets shots. She whines and gets her lip going but thats it. She also doesnt "talk" or babble or make the normal cooing baby noises.. I dont know if i should be concerned.

Most ppl say is a blessing that shes so calm but normal babies cry and babble right? My friends baby is 12 days younger and babbles non stop!

  • If you're concerned tell your pediatrician and ask if they can check her hearing.

  • Have you discussed this with your pediatrician? On one hand it sounds like a blessing, however, I say a mother should always trust her instinct. I believe that God gave us our motherly instinct as a blessing to protect our children. Check with your doctor. Best of luck.

  • my baby didnt start making sounds or having tears until almost 6mnths doc said it was normal for some babies

  • It can't hurt to ask the doctor, but mine don't babble until about 6 months. At my youngest babies 6 month appointment (he's 7 months now) I told the doctor that he doesn't babble and as soon as I said it he said "dadada" I think 4 months is young to be concerned about that, hopefully she's just a content little girl and doesn't have anything to cry about.

  • She also cant touch her toes to her face. She plays with her feet now but cant bend to touch them. I can try and bend her but i dont want to hurt her and its obvious that she doesnt bend like that.

  • check the hearing. My baby is deaf, she doesn't cue as her sister-twin, but talks differently, the PT told me they like the feeling in the throat. She cries thou... when hungry, tired...

  • My son never cried unless he needed something. I thought something was wrong with him the babies i had ever been around were screaming non stop. He just whines when he was hungry or needed a new diaper. Actual babbling doesnt happen until later on. Well after 4 months. Does she coo (cooing and babbling are totally different things and come at totally different ages)? Make any noise at all? If she doesnt i would ask the pedi.
