Should a father pay child support even if he stated that he did not want a child?

If you and guy decide to have casual sex, but it was determined that this would be a one time thing. He also explains that he does not want a child and it is agreed that if a child is the result of the sexual experience that he will not be required to pay child support. Must he be made to pay child support if a child is the result?

  • No, but he shouldn't ever be able to come back and say he wants any rights to that child!!! And I mean NEVER!!!!

  • if he doesnt want a baby he should keep it in his pants. anytime you have sex you take that chance, even with condoms and bc.

  • Well....did HE take precautions and not just count on the woman to do so? And ultimately it doesn't even matter....any time you have sex you know there is a possibility of ending up with a baby. You also not that birth control isn't 100%, so if you take that chance even if the woman agrees you're not responsible....YOU ARE. She may realize that she needs the money to support the child, and that child has a right to support from both parents.

If you don't want a child the only way to be sure is don't have sex....or have a vasectomy (and follow up with the doctor) Otherwise, yep all dad's need to pay child support.

  • First of all, any woman who would have sex with a guy like that shouldn't be a mother! Unfortunately, it's not always possible to prevent that. I would say, if a guy is that serious, he aught to sign something beforehand and get it notorized. Otherwise, all's fair. He should be responsible. So should she. Poor kid.

  • Yes, he should have to still pay. He knows the chances of having sex, regardless of what he said. Don't play with fire, if you don't want to get burned.
