Show me...yes I want Bible verses

Show me any and all Bible verses that you can come up with that show gender roles, that gender roles are static and not fluid, that gender is static and not fluid, etc. I want NT and OT. However, it cannot merely be verses that state things like man and woman get married, simply identifying the two different genders is not stating anything about gender roles or gender fluidity.

  • Thank you lovingangels, that answers my question about gender roles (at least for OT and for a wife). Do you have any for gender fluidity?

  • Ephesians 5:22-30: 22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body.

  • For gender roles yes, Paix. But not for gender fluidity. Just curious if both are touched on or not.

  • Proverbs 31 for the OT and Titus chapter 2 for the NT(the role of the older woman teaching the younger)
Tit 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
Tit 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
is that what you are looking for? There are other places that teach us as wives how we are to act toward our husbands.

  • I'm not sure if there is anything about gender fluidity. Here is another verse I found:
Colossians 3:18-19: 18Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.
