  • i come from a very italian family, and my mom and my grandma both make delicious home made sauce but im yet to write down the recipie and make it because i just havent really had the time or the people to cook it for. for now, i just buy traditional or meat flavored ragu, and ground beef and i cook the ground beef in oil with adobo & garlic powder, and then i leave some of the oil in the pan with the meat when i pour the ragu in and let it cook through for like 10 minutes... its good, its works for now

  • How about a buffalo meat ragu? Buffalo meat is super high in protein and lower in fat than hamburger... Plus it tastes Great!

    1 lb. ground burger
    1 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    4 cloves garlic, grated
Sm. can sliced black olives, drained
Sm. can mushrooms, stems and pieces, drained
32 oz. jar tomato sauce- pref with lots of veggies in it (or 2 cans tomatoes chopped, and one small can tomato paste)
    2 tbsp. Worcestershire
    1 tbsp. brown sugar
    1 tbsp. oregano
    1 tbsp. parsley
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper

Brown burger with onion, green pepper and garlic over med-hi to high heat. Drain fat. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a slow boil. Reduce heat immediately a boiling begins, to low simmer. Stir thoroughly. Simmer 30 minutes.
So delish also if you throw in a handful of chopped basil leaves right at the end- freshens it up!
